Friday Fun: Gread & TGIF & FF |13|

Book Blogger Influences: Has there been a particular book blogger who's influenced what you read? Share with us a review/book blog that convinced you to pick up a certain book.
Reading After MidnightAll book blogger influence me in the way that they raise awareness through meme/reviews of books I never heard of. Besides that though, the book blogger I take their opinion and recommendation to heart is Ari from Reading After Midnight since we have very similar tastes, what she likes, I like. What she dislike, I dislike. The other person would be my co-blogger, Emma. We don't have 100% exact taste like Ari and I do but she's basically the only teen I know who reads adult contemporaries like me and doesn't have a problem at all with reading indie books. So we often share recommendations.

Q: Fight! Fight! If you could have two fictional characters battle it out (preferably from books), who would they be and who do you think would win?
Dimitri from Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead ♥‿♥ and Jace from The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare
They are both really strong and it would be an epic, entertaining battle of hand combat. Definitely a man fight. Though I do believe Dimitri will win because he's no where as impulsive and cocky as Jace. He will underestimate him therefor kick his niiiice booty.

Friday Fun: TGIF at GReads & FF |5|

First & Last: What was the first book you read in 2011 and the last you finished in 2011? How do you feel about these books? Would you recommend them to other readers?

Well, since I don't remember what bra I wore yesterday I definitely won't remember what is the first book I've read this year and since I didn't start reading seriously and keep tracking of the books I read until the summer, hell if I remember. As for last book, I currently finished Whisper Falls, a great adult contemporary-romance and I'm currently reading Lipstick Apology so that will probably be my last read of the year.

The New Year is here -- and everyone wants to know your New Years Blogging Resolutions! What are you going to try to revise, revamp and redo for 2012 on your blog?
1. Replying to comments- the reasons The Book Barbies comment host thingy is Disqus is so I can reply to comments. Which I do. Though the problems comes in with the fact that I reply late. 4 days, 5 days, 6 days, one week late. I'm going to try and work hard on replying on the same day or day after from now!

2. Variety of Posts- right now on the blog we only have reviews, memes & author interviews. Well, I want to do more then that. Maybe like character profiles and why I adore that character, discussion questions on books, my favorite books, characters, couples and why etc. The whole point of me book blogging is because I WANNA TALK BOOKS and this I think will help with that, memes can only go so far...

3- Interacting with book bloggers- why do I and every book blogger blog? because we love books. Why do I specifically blog? because I WANNA TALK BOOKS. I want to discuss, argue, agree, rave and love with other book lovers. Any one can read a book and write a review, I want more then that. I like getting into it with book bloggers, why I loved that book, why I think you should read it, etc. I don't care about the giveaways or the followers, I just want book friends to talk books with and I have some and I completely love them. Emma my co-blogger, Mary @Anxirium, Ari @Reading After Midnight, Celine @Forget Me Not, and Cinnamon @A Thousand Little Pages. Book friends are the best!

This weeks features:

Happy Friday and happy early new year! Only one day left in 2011, EEEEP!

Friday Fun: TGIF, FF & Book Blogger Hop |3|

Spooktacular Reads: Which books do you consider festive Halloween reads? Which stories have chilled you to the bone?
Mhm, nothing really. To me it's contemporary romance, contemporary romance, contemporary romance so I'm not an expert on anything else. Basically anything paranormal would be a Halloween read.

“What is your favorite Halloween costume?
Even if you don’t celebrate, what kinds of costumes do you like?”
I don't limit myself to liking one thing, scary, cute, ugly, ridiculous if I like a costume I like it. A favorite of mine and what I really want to be though is a Flight Attendant! Obviously a less skimpy costume then this one, but you get the idea!

Q:  If you could have dinner with your favorite book character, who would you eat with and what would you serve?
Immediately my answer was Alex from Perfect Chemistry because he is my favorite character ever and we would eat enchiladas because those are my favorite Mexican food (and I wouldn't mind if our night ended up the same way when him and Brittany ate in his cousins garage during Halloween;D) but I answer Alex for so many things, I need to change it up!

So I like to eat with Jace from The Mortal Instruments series (he's hilarious and sexy, what more do you females and you males that roll that way need?!) and I would give him a a kolache to eat. hehe (If you understood that metaphor, I'm going to give you a free book or something lol)

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful Friday & weekend:D

TGIF at GReads {2}

Hosted by Ginger at Greads! This week's TGIF:

Book Blogs That Make You Smile: Pick 5 book blogs you visit often & think others should, too.

OH my, this has GOT to be hard... there are SO many blogs out there that I LOVE. I'm going to go in no particular order.. here it goes.

Jennifer's Top 5:
1. Harmony's Radiant Reads
This girl... where do I begin. Her reviews are amazing, first of all. Her blog is just lovely, and has a very vibrant feel to it that just makes you want to read everything about it. The reviews, memes, even the about me & and contact. If you haven't checked out her vlogs, DO SO. Seeing her in videos just make it all the more connectable to Harmony, her blog and Youtube Channel definitely make my day! :)

2. Ya-Aholic
Haley who runs Ya-Aholic is literally the sweetest person ever. Not only that, but she is so honest in her reviews! Her blog is so eye-catching and attention grabbing, and I just overall love it. Every time I check through my email, I'm always looking for Ya-Aholic's new blog posts. :) She also vlogs now! GO check her out. :)

3. Words Like Silver
I LOVE THIS BLOG. Grace, who runs wordslikesilver, is so thoughtful, ESPECIALLY her reviews! WOW that girl can write. She inspires me to keep blogging, and I admire how much she loves blogging, reading, AND writing :) I love her blog!

4. The Story Siren
Okay, I don't know why I included Kristi's blog on here.. because everyone already knows about it.. but.. I CAN'T HELP IT. I loveloveLOVE her blog. She basically inspired everyone (that I know of) to start blogging. She is the blogging role model.. seriously. She's hilarious, and her meme In My Mailbox is probably the most well-known meme in the blogging world. Her reviews are informational and short! :) Awesome, awesome blog!

5. Hobbitsies
THIS BLOG IS PINK AND GREY <3 My two favorite colors. But that's not the point. Her reviews are short and sweet, and honest, and I kind of go after what's good and what's not on her opinions. :) The blog just has a very neat and clean feel to it, which I love. Keep up the good work, Tara!

Those are my 5 favorite blogs that I check daily! (Again, in no particular order)! What are yours?

Racquel's Top 5:
1. Anxirium run by the lovely Mary.
I see Mary or Anxirium I think of lovely right away, for real. Mary is SOOOO nice if we were all as nice as here world peace would exists. She actually TALKS and discuss books with you, yes *GASP!* she just doesn't post reviews and calls it a day, she actually discusses them with you which is HELLO, the entire point of this book blogging world. To share our love for book. I don't care if you liked a book or not, If I want to read something I will! I follow people's blogs though to see and compare what hey liked and what they didn't like and talk about what we liked plus disliked about book, get all the raving energy out you know? Mary is my book buddy.

2. A Thousand Little Pages run by the genius Cinnamon.
She's funny, she's my age so we can bitch about school 24/7 and like Mary, she actually talks books. I love this girl, fo' real.

Photobucket
3. Reading After Midnight run by the nocturnal lover Ari.
Ari is so sweet + her reviews make me happy. I take her reviews to heart because our book tastes are so similar and they're real thoughtful. Instead of spending 3/4 of her review summarizing the book she actually *double GASP!* tells you how SHE felt about the book. Yeah, we need to lean a thing or two from Ari.

4. Mocha Latte Reads run by the cupcake obsessed Mocha.
Do you see that gorgeous purple button? Do you not feel the cupcake addiction Mocha has? have you not already fallen in love with her and her blog already? If you answered no, WEIRDO.

The Midnight Garden
5.The Midnight Garden run by Peter's Pan wife Wendy!
Wendy and me get into it hardcore. Total no regrets book talk. They make my day. She understand the point of blogging.

6. Book Crook Liza run by Dimka's fellow Russian speaking lover Liza.
we're supposed to mention 5 bloggers only but tomato, tomatho. It's outrageous if I don't put Liza on here. First of all, she loves airport and besides me I think we're the only people on earth who do but really nothing makes me happier then airports, airplanes and traveling. She been to the middle east so she understand my complaining about the heat. Her loveliness aside, she has a great thoughtful blog.

TGIF at GReads (1)

This feature is for Fridays to re-cap the week's posts & to propose a question for my followers. It is hosted by Ginger at Greads!

This Friday's Question:
To-Be-Read's: How big is your pile? Which book keeps getting pushed down the stack, but you keep meaning to read it?

My pile is actually not that big: it consists of:
Born at Midnight by C.C. Hunter           Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

Virtuosity by Jessica Martinez        The Pledge by Kimberly Derting
Dark Inside by Jeyn Roberts             Graffiti Moon by Cath Crowley

The Butterfly Clues by Kate Ellison         Every Other Day by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
Without Tess by Marcella Pixley

So, yep! Definitely not as big as most bloggers. However, I DO read a lot slower than them.. and seem to not have as much time.. which is weird. BUT. I keep pushing back Hush, Hush, which I have heard AMAZING things about, but it's from the library, and it's renewable, so it seems like I just keep renewing it, and renewing it.. and renewing it. Yeah that's pretty much it! I am looking forward to finishing read all of these books by the end of November!
