Cover Reveal: All For You by Laura Florand

My name is Racquel and I am 10000% obsessed with Laura Florand's books! I read The Chocolate Kiss in January and it jumped into my favorite-of-the-favorites shelf. I've already reread it twice. It put me in a reading slump for weeks and I was scared to read another Florand book because what can live up to the amazingness that is The Chocolate Kiss? But I was WRONG because I've since then read The Chocolate Rose and fell completely in love and I thought, "this is it! Florand can't do it again". But then I read The Chocolare Touch and she did it AGAIN. And when I read Turning Up the Heat? Yup. It was just as amazing, just as magical and filled with beautiful writing, to die for setting and lovely characters as the whole series.

Breaking news from the heart of the event: Laura Florand is definitely a new favorite author of mine (and I don't make these claim lightly, AT ALL!)

With that being said, I'm SO EXCITED to share Laura Florand's new series and book cover!
All For You
May 5th, 2015
Paris Hearts series: Three young women trying to make their way in the most romantic city on Earth must learn how to open their hearts to love
Some crushes aren’t meant to be

When her older brother’s best friend left to join the Foreign Legion, eighteen-year-old Célie moved on to make a life for herself as a Paris chocolatier. Now, five years later, the last thing she needs is another man to mess up her happiness.
Let alone the same man.

But five years in the Foreign Legion is a long time for a man to grow up, and a long time to be away from the woman he loves.

Especially when he did it all for her.

Half strangers, more than friends, and maybe, if Joss Castel has his way, a second chance…
I'm SO excited about this because Célie is a lady chef and I've been wanting to read about one since the beginning of the Amour et Chocolat series (though I recently realized The Chocolate Temptation also has a lady chef but the hero is also a chef)! We do meet Célie The Chocolare Touch where she works under Dominique Richard. I'm so excited for this new series from Florand because I. Can. Not. Get. Enough. I haven't been able to focus on a non Florand book and I'm torn between binge reading all of the Amour et Chocolat series and the La Vie en Roses series or pacing my self and enjoying her released books. Being a reader is tough! Anyways, off I go to continue my obsession with Florand's books. If you haven't read a Florand book, you need The Chocolate Kiss in your life NOW. You won't  have to thank me when you love it.

Cover Reveal: Everly After by Rebecca Paula

Everly After by Rebecca Paula
Expected publication date: October 21st, 2014
Contemporary romance NA
Add to Goodreads
All truths burn bright and clear. I’m still waiting in the dark.

Everly Monteith has traded her life of glitter, parties, and self-destruction for waiting tables in a busy Parisian café after college graduation. She’s put the tragedy that sent her across the Atlantic behind her—until her toxic ex shows up and sends her reeling once more. Her delicate grip on a future begins slipping away, before a smug British war correspondent crashes her party and refuses to let her live hiding behind oversized sunglasses. But falling for Beckett means letting down her guard, something that might pull them both into the dark.

There are beautiful lies in this world, and it takes me being chased through a hallway at a rave to decide this girl is one of them. But even the most beautiful lies aren’t worth chasing.

Twenty-five year-old Beckett Reid is forced into sabbatical after he’s kidnapped while on assignment in Afghanistan. Back in Paris and struggling with PTSD, he locks himself away to work on a novel while recovering and save his budding journalism career. But when he meets an enigmatic American heiress, his plans of laying low are quickly forgotten. He craves the energy and danger of war zones and realizes Everly is the perfect replacement, even if she does leave glitter on everything he owns. Reckless and wild, she runs through life making more mistakes than anyone he’s met, but Beckett is determined to fight for her, even if he must face the messy truth that to do so means fighting for himself first.

Cover Reveal: Make it Count by Megan Erickson

Make it Count by Megan Erickson
Expected publication date: June 3rd, 2014
William Morrow Impulse
Contemporary NA
Add to Goodreads
MAKE IT COUNT by Megan Erickson kicks off the lighthearted, funny, and sexy Bowler University series! Readers will love the fresh new series filled with laughter and lots of fun in this debut novel!

Kat Caruso wishes her brain had a return policy, or at least a complaint hot-line. The defective organ is constantly distracted, terrible at statistics, and absolutely flooded with inappropriate thoughts about her boyfriend's gorgeous best friend, Alec...who just so happens to be her brand new college math tutor. Who knew nerd was so hot?

Kat usually goes through tutors like she does boyfriends--both always seem to bail when they realize how hopeless she is. It's safer for her heart to keep everyone at arm's reach. But Alec is always stepping just a little too close.

Alec Stone should not be fantasizing about Kat. She's adorable, unbelievably witty, and completely off limits. He'd never stab his best friend in the back...

But when secrets are revealed, the lines of loyalty are blurred. To MAKE IT COUNT, Alec must learn messy human emotions can't be solved like a trigonometry function. And Kat has to trust Alec may be the first guy to want her for who she is, and not in spite of it.
I'm so very excited about this cover and book!! According to Erickson, the heroine is Brazilian and the hero has a pompadour (link). I AM IN. Erickson also has a self-published novel, Anchor Me, out.

About the author:
MEGAN ERICKSON grew up in a family that averages 5’3” on a good day and started writing to create characters who could reach the top kitchen shelf.

She’s got a couple of tattoos, has a thing for gladiators and has been called a crazy cat lady. After working as a journalist for years, she decided she liked creating her own endings better and switched back to fiction.

She lives in Pennsylvania with her husband, two kids and two cats. And no, she still can’t reach the stupid top shelf.

Cover Reveal: In Control by Crystal Serowka

 In Control by Crystal Serowka
The City #2
Genre: Contemporary NA
Expected release date: October 27th, 2013
Cover Designed by Angie Fields @ I Love It Design Studio
I wasn’t a typical teenager.
I’d been through more rough patches than a weed eater.
I didn’t grow up behind a white picket fence.
I didn’t go to Sunday school.
My body was no temple, though it was worshiped by many.
Girls kept their boyfriends away from me for good reason.
I was desired.
Wanted.
Admired.
While my friends were following the rules, I was breaking them.
I’m careless.
Reckless.
Uncontrollable.
I don’t apologize for who I am.
I embrace it.
But all things must come to an end.
He was my new beginning.
Racquel's thoughts:
Today, I'm helping author Crystal reveal the cover of her second book. Yay! I was expecting  In Control to match In the Air so I was pleasantly surprised when I first saw this cover! I love the red and especially the words in the background. I love when covers have that. I also like how half of the girl is on the front of the cover, and the other half is on the back. Overall, I think cover designer Angie Fields did a nice job!

About the series:
In the Air
Book #1 - companion novel
March 26th 2013
Goodreads summary:

It all began on a New York City sidewalk. It was so surreal. Juilliard, the enormous brick building that held my dreams and the possibilities of my future. I was prepared for the challenges ahead. What I didn’t expect was to lose my focus the second I met him. Living the dance was no longer the only important thing in my life.

The City opened my eyes, but he transformed me.

Two dancers. One big city. He was determined to make a new start. She was ready to make it in the ballet world. Neither expected love to play a part in achieving their dreams. They also didn't expect it to be so destructive. Samson and Natalia took the leap anyway, not worrying about the fall.
About the author:
Crystal Serowka grew up in Chicago, writing poetry and listening to bands that were cool way before her time. She had many different aspirations in life, but the one thing that stuck out more than the others was writing. In her early twenties, Crystal moved to Indianapolis in pursuit of major changes. She overcame a broken heart, listening to The Smiths on repeat, and soon after got back up on her horse.

In 2009, Crystal lost her father to cancer, and the only thing that got her through the tough time was writing about the experience. Last year, she made the decision to self-publish books, touching on the subjects that she knew best: heartbreak, loss of a parent, and music. In the Air, the first book in The City series, was released on Amazon last April.

Cover Reveal: Searching for Beautiful by Nyrae Dawn

So I haven't participated in a cover reveal in a looooong time but I do love these posts & I jumped on the chance to share this new cover!

Searching for Beautiful by Nyrae Dawn
Expected release date: March 4, 2014 from Entangled Teen
 Genre: contemporary YA
Before, Brynn had a group of best friends, a loving boyfriend, a growing talent for pottery. She had a life. And after…she had none.

When Brynn lost the boyfriend who never loved her, the friends who feel she betrayed their trust, and the new life just beginning to grow inside her, she believes her future is as empty as her body. But then Christian, the boy next door, starts coming around. Playing his guitar and pushing her to create art once more. She meets some new friends at the local community center, plus even gets her dad to look her in the eye again…sort of.

But can Brynn open up her heart to truly find her life’s own beauty, when living for the after means letting go of the before?

Christian looks at me. I wait for a smart-aleck reply or a smile but get neither. Just his blue eyes sucking me in like a whirlpool. “That’s what I thought you would say. So you just have to keep fighting for it. Keep fighting to get it back.”

My eyes won’t leave his and his won’t leave mine. And he’s cute. God, he’s so cute, I just want to focus on his cuteness. I want that to be all that matters. When his hand comes up and cups my cheek, I gasp. He brushes his thumb under my eye and licks his lips and I’m frozen and on fire and close to having a heart attack and anxious all at the same time.

Slowly, he leans forward and I know he’s giving me time. And my heart is leaping and I want to feel his lips. This is Christian. The boy who asked me to dance. The boy I ran to my mom about and told her that I loved. And now he’s my friend. The first person who has made me feel normal since everything happened.

But I’m so scared. Scared of messing it up. Scared he’ll decide he doesn’t want me. Scared of losing him. Of getting hurt.

He gets closer and I smell his sweet, sugary scent. See his mouth and wet lips and that hair I want to touch.

See the one person besides Emery who I have. The one person I can’t lose. “Wait,” I say and Christian stops moving. He’s still close. So very, very close that his lips are only an inch away from mine. “I’m scared,” I admit.

“I won’t hurt you.”

And I swear a part of me believes him. Maybe all of me. But how do I know if that’s the right decision or not?

He runs his hand down my face and touches my hair. Love that he’s not nervous to do it the way I am with him and I watch his fingers, brown against my red hair.

“Go out with me, Bryntastic. Let’s go do something this weekend. Don’t keep running. I won’t even try to kiss you again unless you tell me to. Or I’ll wait for you to do it. Just let go. Live.”

His words are what I want. I want them so badly and they sound so perfect that it’s hard not to just scream, “Yes!” right now. “Why?” I ask him. “Why are you so nice to me?”

I love his strength. Love that he doesn’t even hesitates before saying, “Because you were my first crush. Because I used to watch you conqueror anything and used to listen to you laugh with your friends. You were happy and I loved your smile. Because I had to work up the courage to ask you to dance and I did, and then I left and the one thing I missed was that smile. I watched my sister lose hers and watched my family fall apart and when I came back here? I wanted to see your smile again. Because you’re beautiful when you smile and you’ve lost it now. I want you to conquer this because what the hell is the purpose in it all if the first girl I ever danced with loses her smile?”

I don’t realize I’m crying until Christian wipes my tears. “You think I’m beautiful?”

About Nyrae Dawn:

Writing has always been Nyrae Dawn’s passion. There have been times in her life where she wasn’t able to chase that dream the way she desired, but she always found her way back to telling stories.

One of her loves has always been writing about teens. There’s something so fresh and fun about the age that she loves exploring. Her husband says it’s because she doesn’t want to grow up. She doesn’t think that’s such a bad thing and luckily for her, he doesn’t either.

Nyrae gravitates toward character-driven stories. She loves going on emotional journeys with characters whether it be reading or writing. And yes, she’s a total romantic at heart and proud.

Nyrae resides in sunny Southern California with her husband (who still makes her swoon) and her two awesome kids.

When she’s not with her family, you can be pretty sure you’ll find her with a book in her hand or her laptop and an open document in front of her. She writes for Entangled Publishing, Grand Central Publishing and is self-published. Nyrae is represented by Jane Dystel of Dystel and Goderich Literary Management.

Expected release date: Jan 9, 2013
Cover Designed by Okay Creations
I had the perfect life.
Beautiful and loving husband.
Three gorgeous little girls.
Successful career.
The only thing missing was the white picket fence. I really wanted that fence.
Three years ago, I lost that life. I lost my husband. And I lost myself. But, eventually, I found my way through the darkness. I’ve made peace with my new life. I have my girls, and that’s all that matters. They are my world. I have no illusions of ever falling in love again or getting whisked away on a white horse. But then he came back into my life. On a freakin’ motorcycle. There’s no way I’ll let him turn my life completely upside down. Absolutely no way. The question is… How long can I keep pretending that I’m happy with my life being right-side up?
Racquel's thoughts:
I LOVE this cover!! Okay Creations did an AMAZING job. I'm really just so so so happy about it and the the book sounds super angsty. Bring. It. On! I love books where the heroine/hero has kids and the widow subject is a touchy one but like I said, bring. It. On!

Cover designed by Okay Creations
Expected release: February 10th 2013

Their undeniable attraction has Stone struggling with his inner demons.  As Dara slowly allows Stone to claim her heart, a little white lie to cover an ugly truth could determine whether she’s his savior or the final straw that will break his sanity.
Racquel's thoughts:
Not my favorite Okay Creations cover but it's okay because the name Stone is super badass (yes, I'm that shallow-- actually I'm not THAT shallow since I'm not judging the cover :p) and I sure do adore a good opposite attract, bad boy-good girl romance. They're a guilty pleasure!

About the author:

Cover Reveal: Just for Now by Abbi Glines

Just for Now by Abbi Glines
Sea Breeze #4
New adult contemporary romance
Expected release is October 23, 2012
cover designed: Mooney Designs
The day Preston Drake figured out that wealthy women paid well for a set of tight abs and a pretty face his life turned around.

The run down rat-infested trailer he had shared with his alcoholic mother and three younger siblings was now only a place he visited to pay the bills and stock the pantry with food.

He no longer worried about his family starving or living without electricity. The money he made entertaining rich older women more than covered his family’s needs and his own. He had it all figured out. Except…

There was this girl.

She was as innocent as he was tainted.

Amanda Hardy wished her knees didn’t get weak when Preston walked into a room. She hated the fact her heart raced when he flashed his smile in her direction. He had a different girl in his bed every night. He was the kind of boy a smart girl ran from. So, why was she coming up with ways to get close to him? Even when it was obvious he wanted to keep her at a distance.

Maybe her heart knew something the world didn’t. Maybe Preston Drake was more than just a pretty face.=
Racquel's thoughts:
I pretty much have all Abbi Glines contemporary books on my TBR shelf but I have yet to read one of them. I suck, I know!! I *must* get to reading her books ASAP because they really do sound just like *my* type of books and Just for Now is NO different. Her Sea Breeze books just seem to be getting better and better and the same for her covers ;D I love how fun, summery and romance-y this cover is. It screams BUY ME! READ ME!

Book trailer created by: Hellion Works
About Abbi:
Abbi Glines can be found hanging out with rockstars, taking out her yacht on weekends for a party cruise, sky diving, or surfing in Maui. Okay maybe she needs to keep her imagination focused on her writing only. In the real world, Abbi can be found hauling kids (several who seem to show up that don’t belong to her) to all their social events, hiding under the covers with her MacBook in hopes her husband won’t catch her watching Buffy on Netflix again, and sneaking off to Barnes and Noble to spend hours lost in the yummy goodness of books. If you want to find her then check Twitter first because she has a severe addiction to tweeting @abbiglines. Facebook is also somewhere she visits a little too often. She blogs regularly but rarely about anything life changing. She also really enjoys talking about herself in third person.

Already embarrassed, it only gets worse when she arrives for her first class of her last college semester, and recognizes her new Theatre professor. Racquel's thoughts:
The summary of this book just sounds like so much FUN! I could already tell its going to be a wild ride that I think I'll love. Plus the team at the YA-Sisterhood described this books as "It’s New Adult (college-aged), and is a great blend of awkward hilarity and steamy romance." See, I NEED it in my life! With only a single peck from a guy named Frank, Natalie’s anything but experienced with boys. But when Todd pops out of the water, says hi, and tells Natalie he has leukemia, all of that changes.

She’s never had attention like this from a boy, let alone one who’s a real charmer with sex on the brain and the experience to match. Drawn to Todd like a magnet, Natalie gives him her friendship, her love, and her body. Even when she’s tempted by gorgeous, healthy schoolmate Alex, Natalie’s desire to love and care for Todd pushes her to see how far love can go in spite of the potential for death of the relationship — and death of the one she loves.

Cover Reveal: This is What Happy Looks Like by Jennifer E. Smith

Publisher: Poppy (Little Brown and Company)
Expected Publication: April 2, 2013 (taken from Amazon)
If fate sent you an email, would you answer?

In This is What Happy Looks Like, Jennifer E. Smith's new YA novel, perfect strangers Graham Larkin and Ellie O'Neill meet—albeit virtually—when Graham accidentally sends Ellie an email about his pet pig, Wilbur. In the tradition of romantic movies like "You've Got Mail" and "Sleepless in Seattle," the two 17-year-olds strike up an email relationship, even though they live on opposite sides of the country and don't even know each other's first names.

Through a series of funny and poignant messages, Graham and Ellie make a true connection, sharing intimate details about their lives, hopes and fears. But they don't tell each other everything; Graham doesn't know the major secret hidden in Ellie's family tree, and Ellie is innocently unaware that Graham is actually a world-famous teen actor living in Los Angeles.

When the location for the shoot of Graham's new film falls through, he sees an opportunity to take their relationship from online to in-person, managing to get the production relocated to picturesque Henley, Maine, where Ellie lives. But can a star as famous as Graham have a real relationship with an ordinary girl like Ellie? And why does Ellie's mom want her to avoid the media's spotlight at all costs?

Just as they did in The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight, the hands of fate intervene in wondrous ways in this YA novel that delivers on high concept romance in lush and thoughtful prose.
Racquel's thoughts:
I DARE ANYONE TO TELL ME THAT THE SUMMARY IS NOT UTTERLY INTRIGUING AND AMAZING! It makes me want to read the book NOW!! It totally captured my attention, nice job, Poppy! Usually when I see books, my first step is to check out Goodreads to make sure the book has some good reviews but with this book, I would definitely buy it immediately without checking anything.

The cover is just too cute for words and I love how they continued the same cover trend of Jennifer E. Smith's previous novel, The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight (and it seems, the trend of long titles too which I think is very unique.) Side by side, these two books will look absolutely terrific! I love the red and yellow pop of colors in both books. But really what makes this an auto-buy is the summary. It's just so fantastic! I love contemporary. I love romance. And I just love how cute Jennifer E. Smith's novels sound (though I have yet to read any of them. Yup, I suck).

Just like 2012, my most awaited book for 2013 is by Julie James! It's called Love Irresistibly but we don't have a cover or a blurb yet but we do have a release date which is April 2nd, just like This is What Happy Looks Like! April 2nd is going to be a heck of a day for awesome books :D

Also, my dad adores Sleepless in Seattle. He watches it every time it comes on TV and I started watching it with him too♥

It's such a great movie!
