Top ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke & The Bookish, and this week's topic is:
Top Ten Favorite Book Covers Of Books We've Read
Racquel's picks:
First of all, round of applause because I've finally learned an easy, quick way to put all these covers into one picture on Photoshop. I might cry from happiness! Next, this was HARD. A lot of covers I love love love are not covers of books I've read! So I tried my best to pick recent covers.
Nightshade by Andrea Cremer: this cover is a thing of beauty plus purple is obviously my favorite color so I just really, really, really adore this cover. And the main character's name is Calla and those flowers on the covers are callas. Yay to matching cover! However they changed this hardcover U.S. cover to something hideous *cries*
02. Daughter of Smoke & Bone by Laini Taylor: The hardcover U.S. copy of DoSaB is the most beautiful thing evaaar. It's shiny and pretty and even better! The writing is as beautiful as the cover. Win. Win. Win!
03. Out of Reach by Carrie Arcos: Okay so yes, the girl is in straight up winter attire while the book is set in a beach town in California in the summer. MINOR detail. What I really like about this cover is that it catches the hopeless tone present in the book. I think despite the winter/summer thing, this cover and even title could not have fit the book better. It's perfect!
04. To Sir Phillip, With Love by Julia Quinn: I just love love love love love these types of cartoon/illustration/WHATEVER you call them covers. I LOVE them. I think they're so cute. I loove them, okay?
05. Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare: The Infernal Devices series is probably the nicest thing on my shelf. I love how the match. I love the how they're shiny and have reflected covers and the characters on the covers actually resemble Tessa, Will & Jem, the characters of the book. I just have to repeat: this series is probably the fancies thing on my shelf ♥
Sharon's picks:
01. Playing Hurt by Holly Schindler
02. The Queen of Kentucky by Alecia Whitaker
03. Meant to Be by Lauren Morrill
04. My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick
05. Entwined by Heather Dixon
I have an intense love of negative space, vibrant colors, and fantastic use of fonts. Oh, and girls in pretty dresses and castles. ♥
