The Book Barbies: Strong Heroines |Day 7| Chloe from Welcome, Caller, This Is Chloe

In celebration of International Women's Day on March 8th, we are highlighting a favorite strong heroine every day!

Racquel's pick for today : Chloe Camden from Welcome, Caller, This Is Chloe by Shelley Coriell

Why Chloe? This was another easy pick! Chloe was a terrific main character and just one of my all time favorites. She's outgoing and fun and even though she's an outcast when the book begins and she has some issues at home, she never falls down! She tries to make new friends when her old friends shun her and she's trying out new activities even though she's not wanted and doing all that with a smile on her face!

Chloe is just a positive and I'll repeat myself, outgoing girl which is not something I see a lot in YA so it's nice to see these types of girls get a spotlight! She was also involved with her family, especially her grandmother, and as a person who's too involved with their family, that makes me happy!

So day 1 I featured Finley, who's grieving and trying to find her faith again but she's trying her best. Day 3 I featured Penelope a shy wallflower who knows how what a beautiful person she actually is. Day 5 I featured bad ass Jordan who never throws her self a pity party. Today it's all about friendly Chloe. See a pattern? shy or outgoing, rich or poor, anyone can be strong. As long as a character doesn't wallow about their 'pathetic' state (because it's usually not that bad) and try their best to better the situation their unhappy about then they receive the strong approval from me. What do you think?
