A-Z Bookish Survey

Jamie at The Perpetual Page Turner found my weakness. I LOVE surveys. I used to fill them out all the time on Livejournal and back when they were popular in email. So if you make a book survey like this? Yeah, I am SO there.

Author you’ve read the most books from:
#01. Janet Evanovich (25 books) {Thank you, Stephanie Plum! Haha.}
#02. Lisa Kleypas (23 books)
#03. Meg Cabot (21 books)

For the record, a more accurate answer would PROBABLY be Ann M. Martin or Carolyn Keene, given the number of Babysitter's Club and Nancy Drew books I read earlier in life.

(Want an easy way to figure this out if you have Goodreads and keep good track of your stuff? Go to your account, hit “my books”and on the left hand side under your shelves you will see “most read authors”)

Best Sequel Ever:
Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi. And I was worried this one wouldn't live up to Shatter Me. FALSE.

Currently Reading:
Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo

Drink of Choice While Reading:
Tea! Whether it's cold, sweet tea in the summer, or hot tea in the other seasons, I love a good tea while reading! Close behind are cider and hot cocoa.

E-reader or Physical Book?
Physical book, for sure! I love my Nook and the handiness of it, but I will forever prefer physical books.

Fictional Character You Probably Would Have Actually Dated In High School:
Wes Baker from The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen. I'm pretty sure we DID date in high school, in my mind. At least, we may as well have, for as many times as I read this book.

Glad You Gave This Book A Chance:
Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë. I first tried to read this book when I was 12, because I had just finished and loved Jane Eyre. Got like 30 pages in and hated it. Tried again years later. Now it's one of my favorites!

Hidden Gem Book:
The Outsider by Penelope Williamson. I feel like her books get overlooked a lot because they are older and harder to find. But she writes AMAZING, slow burn build-up. They are truly fantastic.

Important Moment in your Reading Life:
The moment I picked up my first Harlequin and discovered the fabulousness of romance.

Just Finished:
This Song Will Save Your Life by Leila Sales. It was fantastic!

Kinds of Books You Won’t Read:
Horror. That's really about it! I'll try just about anything once.

Longest Book You’ve Read:
Ulysses by James Joyce OR Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. I'd call it a tie. It depends on which version you look at. I think Atlas Shrugged is probably technically longer, but Ulysses felt longer and took longer, LOL.

** easy way to find this out. Go to your Goodreads “read” list, don’t scroll down but where you are on the screen there will be this little tab on the bottom that lets you choose how you want to scroll or how many books you want display. There is also a sort option with a drop down and you can sort by page.

Major book hangover because of:
The Harry Potter series! I read them for the first time my freshman year of college, followed by the biggest book hangover ever!

Number of Bookcases You Own:
Just one, alas! But I have an entertainment center I keep books in, so sort of two, I guess? Both are full, so I'm about to have to expand in some fashion.

One Book You Have Read Multiple Times:
Hunting and Gathering by Anna Gavalda

Preferred Place To Read:
Outside, on a crisp, early autumn morning. This is my favorite way to read EVER.

Quote that inspires you/gives you all the feels from a book you’ve read:
As y'all probably know, I am ALL ABOUT quotes (as evidenced by my Top Ten Tuesday that turned into a Top One Hundred and Twenty Tuesday), especially romantic ones. But here is a great one:
"I no longer believed in the idea of soul mates, or love at first sight. But I was beginning to believe that a very few times in your life, if you were lucky, you might meet someone who was exactly right for you. Not because he was perfect, or because you were, but because your combined flaws were arranged in a way that allowed two separate beings to hinge together."
Blue-Eyed Devil by Lisa Kleypas

Reading Regret:
That I don't have enough time to read all the books I want to! I hate thinking about the limited number of books I'll get to read in my life, even if I continue to read 100+ books a year.

Series You Started And Need To Finish(all books are out in series):
The Jessica Darling series by Megan McCafferty! I have no idea why I stopped these books, because what I've read is amazing! Marcus Flutie = ♥ Probably because I didn't want it to end? Regardless, I NEED to continue!

Three of your All-Time Favorite Books:
Well, I've already mentioned several of them. But here are three more: Sugar Daddy, Blue-Eyed Devil , and Smooth Talking Stranger by Lisa Kleypas. AKA, the Travis series!

Unapologetic Fangirl For:
Lisa Kleypas! We once did a post on The Top Ten Romances NOT Written by Lisa Kleypas because she infiltrates our lists so much that we needed to do one without her to make it fair.

Very Excited For This Release More Than All The Others:
May as well make it three in a row: Brown-Eyed Girl by Lisa Kleypas. Other wise known as the long-long-long-awaited TRAVIS #4.

A super close second goes to Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi. I CANNOT WAIT. I was already excited and crazily anticipating this book, after my intense adoration of the rest of the series. But after the cover/title release yesterday, my excitement is at an all-time high!

Worst Bookish Habit:
Not sure. I guess, that I'm such a huge mood reader. I'll read ALL the historical romance, then stop and read ALL the contemporary YA. Which is fine, except that I wind up not reading great books I was really excited for before.

X Marks The Spot: Start at the top left of your shelf and pick the 27th book:
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling

Your latest book purchase:
The Summer I Became a Nerd by Leah Rae Miller. I am SO FREAKING EXCITED to read this book. I'm trying to hold off for Bout of Books in a week and a half, but not sure if I'll be able to.

ZZZ-snatcher book (last book that kept you up WAY late):
I stay up pretty late with books a lot, but the last one I HAD to stay up crazy late and finish was A Notorious Countess Confesses by Julie Anne Long.

Did YOU fill out this survey? Link me! I love these! Even if you didn't, tell me some of your answers if you like. Do you agree with my answers? Do you not? Do you hate Wuthering Heights with a burning passion? *insert sadface here* Let me know below!
